LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Pioneering rapper Dr. Dre received the inaugural Hip-Hop Icon Award from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers in recognition of his impact on the genre, industry and culture of hip-hop. Since Compton crackles with life and spirit, it seems a shame to shut that door.Dr. It's an excellent end to an attractive and rich LP, and as the man returns to icon status with this stoic and stern stance, the most unfortunate thing about this "final" effort is that this unproductive gangsta perfectionist who moves at a Golem's pace has now flourished under a tight timetable. member Ice Cube is offered a challenging, compressed loop for the straight talking and rightfully agitated "Issues." Quotes from past albums and past productions are all over this album, and the Aftermath roster comes alive again with Jon Connor and Justus shining in their spotlights, and after an angelic Jill Scott feature dubbed "For the Love of Money" paints this former Death Row artist as more serene than anyone ever thought, the closing "Talking to My Diary" ties up the loose ends as Dre professes a belief that Eazy-E is smiling at him from above. The music is crooked enough to put Snoop Dogg into the groove for the swaggering "Satisfaction," and remains raw enough to drive Eminem into dangerous territory on "Medicine Man," while fellow N.W.A. Early highlight "Genocide" puts it all in one cut as robotic funk finds Kendrick in full rage, while Marsha Ambrosius and Candice Pillay provide the soul before the track exits with some wild dubstep doo wop, as the more developed Compton still has all the quirks and smart-ass humor of The Chronic. It also celebrates the new breed, taking the busy, jazz-inspired structure of Kendrick Lamar's masterpiece release To Pimp a Butterfly, and adds grooves that are entirely Dre, playing it steady, swaying, and locking listeners in. This brilliant kaleidoscopic LP, which was recorded in under a year, focuses on the veteran producer's connection to the modern world as it references Eric Garner, frames it with N.W.A.'s history, and decides that little has changed. Heflin being cut may come as a surprise, however, as I wrote about recently, if the usage of the sixth IDL was going to be similar to what it was in 2021 - which was minimal on both defense and special teams - that roster spot could be better utilized elsewhere. Heflin put together another strong preseason, especially against the run where he is at his best. Thomas is a prime practice squad candidate. With Thomas cut, Rico Gafford is the clear front-runner for the sixth cornerback spot, if the Packers keep that many. Thomas put himself in position to make the final roster with his play on defense this summer, allowing only one completion for eight yards, while also being a sound tackler. Mack was on the field for 66 offensive snaps this preseason and another 24 on special teams, according to PFF ($$), but with Robert Tonyan off PUP, making the roster was always a long shot for Mack. ![]() He was targeted just once in the preseason, however, and had his ups and downs as a blocker. Summers was competing with Ray Wilborn for that fifth linebacker roster spot-although the Packers may choose to only keep four. Summers has been a regular member of the special teams unit in his three seasons, but that may not have carried the same clout this year because of there being a new coordinator with a new system and the Packers’ special teams unit regularly being among the worst in football. With De’Vondre Campbell returning and the addition of Quay Walker, making the final roster felt like an uphill battle for Summers, who defensively has been limited, particularly in coverage. Single-cell RNA-seq (scRNA-seq) has generated a wealth of data allowing researchers to measure and quantify RNA levels in single cells at unprecedented scales 1, 2. When applied to a data set given a hierarchy of cell types as labels, the markers found by our method improves the recovery of the cell type hierarchy with fewer markers than existing methods using a computationally efficient and principled optimization. This results in a substantially more robust and less redundant set of markers than existing methods, most of which identify markers that separate each cell label from the rest. Given single cell RNA-seq data and a set of cellular labels to discriminate, scGeneFit selects gene markers that jointly optimize cell label recovery using label-aware compressive classification methods. When isolating specific cell types from a sample of disassociated cells or performing in situ sequencing in collections of heterogeneous cells, one challenging task is to select a small set of informative markers that robustly enable the identification and discrimination of specific cell types or cell states as precisely as possible. Multi-omic data for single cell gene expression, in situ hybridization, or single cell chromatin states are increasingly available across diverse tissue types. Single-cell technologies characterize complex cell populations across multiple data modalities at unprecedented scale and resolution. ![]() ![]() Johnny Lingo gets in trouble for letting the cows go free and as punishment he has to work for 8 years. Johnny’s answer was simple: the change was because she was an 8 cow wife now. To his surprise he met Sarita and found her to be stunningly beautiful and one of the most graceful women he had ever seen.Ĭonfused, he asked Johnny why his wife seemed to be so different than the other island woman had described to him. The Islanders were shocked because no one had ever paid more than 5 or 6 cows for a wife – not even for the most valuable women of the island! She was (in the eyes of the Islanders and even her own father) not likely to marry because she was a woman without worth.
